Morning trip and hike to The Cooley Mountains
The Cooley Peninsula is definitely one of our favourite places to hike, walk, have picnics, or have photo shoots.
When we checked the weather forecast the evening before, and it was given the foggy morning, we thought we would go for a stroll and capture a few shots.
The Cooley Mountains, with their stunning “capital”," Carlingford, came to the top of the list quickly again ;-)
Preparation: a flask with hot coffee, some food, early get up and go.
Morning wake-up was very quickly praised with the amazing sky on the way. Had to pull off the M1 near Dunleer to take a few photos of the amazing sky before sunrise. Even having a humble meadow as a foreground made the view just spectacular. Back to the car and go. A couple of shots with red sky in the gallery below.
The Tain Way near the Clermont Cairn became extremely icy, making it impossible to drive. We parked the car and strolled towards The Clermont Cairn. Views of the mountains with covering clouds, sunrise, and a bit of snow were just jaw-dropping. It’s hard to take the finger off the release button on the camera.
I tried to set the gallery in chronological order.
