Sisters Family Portrait
When Cheryl texted me, “Marcin. I don’t have any good photos together with my sister! Would you do an outdoor session for us?” My first thought was, “Wow! Great idea and a cool challenge! I haven’t photographed the sisters before!” A moment later questions arose, “What poses? How to capture this unique sisterly connection? What light? Location?”
Cheryl and I quickly established the mood and basic ideas of the photoshoot. Knowing Cheryl's taste in music (similar to mine, which means very good) and great style, I had in mind the location (Monika helped me place it there), the colours, and the light. Bective Abbey seemed like the perfect place for such an unusual “family session.” All that was left was to hope for fairly good weather.
Maybe there wasn’t a dramatic sunset and the evening was cloudy, but with such two great models, it went even better than I expected. The girls made it so easy to capture the close connection between the siblings, beautifully telling a story of a fantastic sister’s relationship. To control all the lights, posing, and composition and mainly to catch all emotions in the family portrait became real fun and joy. The session has time went so fast.
Because it was overcast and gloomy afternoon I decided to fake a bit of golden Hour light and create some Rim light with additional speed light from the back.
